  2. Thank you Lee… I appreciate your niceness as well, and your explanation. I had wondered what led you away from the church when you are such a sincere and passionate Christ follower. I can honestly say I would have struggled tremendously with a church that took that stand as well, so I do understand. I am at an advantage because my husband is the senior pastor of my church and he is in agreement with you and me… guess you could say I am a bit spoiled in this way. However, I will admit openly that even my husband and I do not agree on everything…. and I have heard that if two people agree on everything, one of them is not necessary….LOL! But joking aside, we definitely agree on this point! I think it is so amazing that we are positionally secure and experientially growing to reflect more of His image, but still under grace, covered completely by the blood of Jesus! Oh how wonderful to walk in the grace, mercy and love of Jesus…and to be free from condemnation!

And by the way, yes, your words are of great use to me… as I’ve mentioned on more than one occasion… you get me thinking! Thank you so much! And blessings always! 🙏🏻

  3. You are a nice person miss Dori. I thank God for brethren like yourself.

One thing that God showed me that was counterintuitive to my thinking, and counter to the religious teaching that I was used to was…God has already forgiven me of all of my sin when I was born again.
(I resigned my membership at a church over this issue). I’m not recommending anyone do this, but this was my choice.

I was a member of a church where I loved the pastor. It was not a fun thing for me to do.

But I was told that I needed to continually seek God’s forgiveness as I sinned, to be relationally forgiven by God, although I was positionally forgiven.
Over and over, I was seeking God’s forgiveness…there was no end to it, and I never felt truly forgiven in this fog.

But God revealed to me that I was ONLY forgiven by blood…once, for all of my sin.

The church leadership didn’t approve of my whole gusto perspective.

And I was left deciding between ongoing forgiveness, or resting in already having been forgiven…I had to decide which to stand by, and I chose to believe that my forgiveness seeking was over, and the church’s views didn’t mesh with that.

Maybe that’s of use to you or not. But either way, I appreciate your niceness. 😃

  4. Yes!!! Sometimes I think we, as believers, can be more self-condemning than non-believers because we think we should be perfect (I tend to think I should know better). But even though we still have our sin nature (Paul spoke of the war within Him, wanting to do one thing, but doing another…“What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?” Romans‬ ‭7:24‬). When the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin, we are to simply confess it to God (agreeing with Him that we messed up, 1 John 1:9), turn from that sin in sincere repentance and go on (hopefully, learning from our mistakes), and as you said…believe we ARE already forgiven, the price has already been paid, it IS finished. I sincerely believe that guilt over past sin comes directly from the enemy. Conviction in the present over what we just did or said or thought is from the Holy Spirit. The warfare is real, but the enemy does not have final authority over us…he may have authority in this world, but God still has final authority! We have all the power of the cross and our resurrected Savior on our side. When the enemy condemns us, He is our advocate, applying his shed blood, the price already paid, to our sin. We can truly rest in Christ and His finished work.

So all that to say I agree with you and thank God for His living Word… “Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!” ‭Romans‬ ‭7:25

‬Thank you Lee for your encouraging and great feedback… you always get me thinking… probably WAY too much! LOL 🤓

  5. YES! YES! YES!

    That’s it!

That’s the truth that folks need to believe ain’t it? Christians are like…”Praise God, I’m forgiven of all my sin.”
Then you get “that look” from Christians when you say…”So quit asking God for forgiveness, and believe that you have been forgiven.”

And a very good mornin to you Dori.
