I’M ADORABLE (SAYS SOMEONE ELSE OTHER THAN ME)! A very kind fellow blogger, actor and Christ follower (among various other creative things), J. David Peever nominated me for a Liebster Award (= favorite or adored one in German). As I researched a little further, I learned that the word ‘Liebster’ has several definitions such as dearest, sweetest, kindest, nicest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, welcome and sweetheart. Being a newbie in ‘Blogger World,’ I am deeply honored to be anyone’s favorite – blogger or otherwise – and to receive this award.
Rules: I’m required to Thank the nominator (I sent him a note, but thanks again, David, you bless me!), answer the Questions below (may the creativity flow as to not bore anyone, including me), and Nominate others (So this is how it works – guess I’m not that special after all 😂).
The Questions:
If you could be any animal on earth, what would it be and why? A Giraffe, because I can only imagine what it was like during Creation when God said, “Let’s do something fun!” Then He created this amazing animal with a reeeeeeeally looooong neck and legs, a huge heart (approx. 22-29 lbs.) so it could pump blood up that long neck, with two antena-type things on top of its head called ossicones, HUGE eyes and nice eyelashes. (Ahhh, to be tall, slender and look great without mascara… isn’t that every girl’s dream?) Back to God…I picture Him at the drawing board, smiling – maybe even laughing – just knowing how much we’d enjoy this stately, wondrous, humorous animal! And just the thought of the expression on a giraffe’s face makes me giggle with delight! My guess is, God is giggling too!
If you had to write the soundtrack of your life, what would be the first three songs?
1) “The Old Rugged Cross” – Yeah I know, it’s old, but the words are powerful… “In the old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, Such a wonderful beauty I see, For ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died, To pardon and sanctify me.” The day I met Him was the day my life truly began so “I will cling to the old rugged cross, and exchange it someday for a crown.”
2) “Cherish” by the Association – Because I am a born romantic and it was popular during my early teen years when I was in love with ‘the idea of being in love.’ But I still love the word ‘cherish.’ I would rather be loved, cherished and adored than have wealth, power or position. And God’s love is SO gracious, merciful and unconditional that I believe He does cherish every one of His children. And to deeply cherish another – God and loved ones included – is the most heartwarming feeling this side of heaven.
3) “Can’t Live A Day” by Avalon – Because it speaks my heart… “I couldn’t face my life tomorrow, Without Your hope in my heart I know, I can’t live a day with You, Lord there’s no night and there’s no morning, Without Your loving arms to hold me, You’re the heartbeat of all I do, I can’t live a day without You.” And bottom line, I can’t, and He made it so I don’t have to. Hallelujah!
If your death was imminent, what would you choose as your last meal? Hands down, it would be fried clams at the Union Oyster House in Boston… They are the best ever, the whole clam with the bellies, prepared perfectly! My mouth is watering as I write! I wonder if there are any good deals on airfare…gotta go soon!
What movie that has not yet been made would you pay good money to see? A modern day version of The Woman at the Well from John 4:4-39. Not quite sure what that would look like… but it is a powerful story that God has used to impact my life and the lives of so many other lost and searching souls.
What was your favorite age to be and why? Eight. I loved the third grade… after having the worst teacher ever in second grade, I had the BEST teacher ever in third! She taught me the value of encouraging the heart of a child, and ultimately encouraging everyone. Oh, to be like Mrs. Black! I could have stayed in third grade forever! Not to mention, it was such a simple, sweet and innocent time of life.
What is the one book that has most inspired your writing and/or life? Definitely the Bible. It not only inspires me, it breathes life into my very soul, it is truth and light, it is timeless and living… It is Jesus in writing. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:1, 14)
If you could live anywhere you please, without that pesky restraint called money, where would it be and why? I love my home and feel quite content here for now, so I doubt I’d move right away. We live near an airport and our family is quite spread out, so if there were no money restraints, I would invest in my own private jet and pilot (always available) and he’d fly my husband and me to see our kids and grandkids anytime we want…and to Boston, on occasion, for those delectable fried clams! Eventually, I’d like a quiet mountain hideaway where I could hike, commune with God, read, write and enjoy retirement…far from traffic, but near a good grocery store and an airport, of course! 🙂
My Nominees:
Whether they accept this award or not is up to them, but I hope you will visit a few of their clever, creative, insightful, educational and often fun blogs. Enjoy! 🙂
And to those of you who viewed this blog when I first posted it, you discovered just how ‘WordPress-challenged’ I am. I think all the bugs are worked out now, but this ol’ gal is still learning. 🤦🏻♀️
You have good taste in music! I enjoyed reading all your answers from more than six years ago! 🙂

Hahaha, free food provided by God, nothing better 😉 I did that with shrimp once, it was fried, and so good. Yes, it was a blessing to have those memories 🙂

Oh that is sooooooo sad… Oh, for the good ol’ days! But how nice that you had that experience. We used to gather periwinkles off the rocks. I ate so many one time (as a kid) that I got sick! But boy, were they yummy! 🙂

I am sure I’ll enjoy it 🙂 Yes, I live in a coastal community, so I know what you mean about being weaned on seafood. Fried clams, clam bakes, clam chowder, I love it all :):) we’d just figure out which seafood we wanted, and God provided :):) want clams? Grab a rake and a bucket 🙂 Now, I’d be scared to eat our seafood hehehe. Too much development, dumping into the water. It’s barely safe to swim.

Hi Margaret… Thank you! And actually, you deserve it as well! I hope you enjoy the process as you answer the questions. I found it to be quite fun! Thank you for the feedback on my answers… Do you ‘really’ like fried clams too? I was raised in Boston until I was 10, so I think I was weaned on seafood. 😂 We have good seafood on the West Coast as well, but there is something about fresh Atlantic fish that is extraordinary! 🐠🐟 God bless you too… HUGE!!! 💕✝️💖
